I dined at the Bann Tazala restaurant and was so impressed that I
immediately recommended it to Thailand Tatler who asked me to
include it into my 2005 write up of Chiang Mai's top 12 restaurants
for them. Lovely French food - limited seating and menu - but
delicious and
complimented by a very reasonable wine menu all at very good prices
1,200 baht for three courses). Call them for bookings as with only 16
seats in its intimate dining room, you will need to be sure you have
booked.

Intending to write in this guest book, I caught myself looking our
over the pool/pond day dreaming-/ That's the magic of this place! Many
thanks for a wonderful stay.

The best of Chiang Mai's burgeoning boutique-hotel scene, this
ingeniously designed eight-room property sits on a 12 x 145m sliver of
land across the road from the sprawling Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevi.
Each uniquely styled room is sumptuously furnished, and the French
dining room is superb. (55/5 Moo 1 Chiangmai-Sankampaeng Rd.;
66-53/850-111;
www.banntazala.com; doubles from US$215).
